Read all about it I'm rolling on the floor. A 'disaster preparedness consulting firm' whatever the hell that is, who knew there was such a thing, we thought disaster preparedness was comprised of the HR hags running around making sure you have your evacuation plan posted in your cubicle. But anyway, such a thing does exist. Okay, fine. Now, which firm in their right goddamn minds would hire FEMA fool Michael Brown? I can hear the advice to executives now... "Make sure you do not use email as a communication tool during the disaster."

That guy was such an idiot, too dumb to realize even that you can't put stuff like "I think I looked good on camera" (during the hurricane relief updates) in emails while people are starving in a convention center.

More potential pearls of wisdom:

"Disasters can be bad-really bad-for your career. Make sure that you appear to be aware of how bad it is."

And he can finish with:

"Even if hundreds of people die as a result of your ineptitude, it's ok as long as you have the love of your family"

But tsls, only about 1,000 people died total, and I'd hardly blame all those deaths on Brown the Bafoon. Most of those deaths are directly attributable to the people not evacuating. The misery, and the delays in evacuation from the Convention Center and the stadium, those are his fault. He also made it possible for the irresponsible people who did not evacuate to blame everyone else but themselves on said misery. He opened that door wide open.

True enough- Most of the deaths can be attributed to natural selection. I suspect a portion of those who stayed were opportunists that hoped to profit from the chaos by looting, and if they met their fate in the process then they were their own judge, jury, and executioner. Of the evacuees, he was informed "estimates are many will die within hours", but chose to extend his dinner that night when he could have been assessing the situation and deploying the considerable resources that were at his disposal. Whether dozens or hundreds, every poor soul that was evacuated, only to die from lack of oxygen, medical attention, or violence that night should haunt him forever.

Yep, you're right, he is a first degree blackbelt in bafoonery. But based on his first CNN interview, nothing haunts this guy except the echoes of wind floating around his hollow head.
